BWSR, a partnership between BWXT and CB&I, is the Decontamination and Decommissioning (D&D) subcontractor at the Bettis Laboratory. BWSR performs remediation of legacy nuclear and environmental materials on site. The main project areas at the site include remediation of historical research facilities, demolition of buildings, and characterization of site infrastructure to support on-going maintenance and construction.
Operations Supervisor (2 Positions Available) - BWSR (BWX Technologies, Inc) - West Mifflin, PA
Job Summary :
This position is an exempt supervisory position responsible for supervising and coordinating day-to-day operations in various work areas. In order to maintain consistent production goals, this individual must work closely as a team member with Radiological Supervisors, Environmental Engineers, Radiological Engineers and the Project Management Organization (PMO).
BWSR is looking for an individual with a background in Radiological D&D to provide daily oversight and supervision of operations personnel such that all safety, environmental, radiological, engineering, project management, and operations standards are met. Relevant experience working as a field supervisor is preferable. This person must be able to perform simple operations on a personal computer in support of all work, and must be able to perform administrative paperwork with little to no errors requiring rework. This individual must be physically qualified to perform the duties of the job description. This position will require the maintaining of several qualifications within the Naval Reactors program.
Specific duties include but are not limited to:
+ Provide supervisory oversight and leadership for all personnel under his/her charge to ensure the highest possible safety, environmental, radiological, and operational standards are kept.
+ Maintain each individual work area and crew under his/her supervision with adequate materials and equipment.
+ Ensure all work efforts under his/her control are performed in a safe and efficient manner.
+ Serve as the operations liaison between various work groups in the field and between the seller and buyer follow groups.
+ Responsible to know the field status of all jobs under his/her status, anticipate challenges, remove barriers, and ensure safe, compliant and on-schedule completion.
+ Determine the necessary personnel required for day-to-day operations.
+ Assures radiological controls, individual training and work practices are commensurate with conditions as found at the work site.
+ Audits work in-progress to assure compliance with established procedures.
+ Tracks personnel exposure at the job site, making sure available personnel have adequate exposure to complete the task.
+ Control the completion of routine and non-routine operations, ensuring that all work is planned and deadlines are targeted so as to maintain the production schedule.
+ Interface directly with project superintendents to develop and maintain job specific, detailed work activities on a weekly basis.
+ Submit pertinent scheduling information to the project superintendent as needed for scheduling purposes.
+ Work directly with engineering for identification of required material purchases and procurement activities.
+ Performance of technical work document review, scheduling, cost control and tracking, employee relations, and work quality inspections is a must.
+ Closely manage timecards of personnel assigned.
Job Qualifications / Requirements:
+ High School diploma/GED is required.
+ A minimum of 5 years supervisory experience or experience in directing the work activities of a work crew, preferred.
+ Experience in D&D is preferred.
+ Must be a U.S. Citizen with no dual citizenship.
+ The ability to obtain and maintain Production Contamination Supervisor radiological qualifications in the Naval Nuclear Propulsion program.
+ Must be able to obtain and maintain respirator qualifications.
+ The ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy (DOE) Level ?L? Security Clearance.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
